
Overview of Dr. Ellen
Stephen C. Ellen, MD, is a psychiatrist based in Norwood, MA, with 31 years of psychopharmacology expertise treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, insomnia/sleep disorders and most other psychiatric symptoms amenable to medication management. He has been treating patients since 1994, in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire (licensed in both states). He graduated with a with a BS (summa cum laude) honors in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He then graduated from Harvard Medical School (MD) in 1989. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at The Cambridge Hospital from 1989-1992, and his fellowship at The Austen Riggs Center in 1994. He was an assistant professor of psychiatry at The University of Massachusetts Medical School from 1994-2003 and has published in his area of interest (sleep medicine in the psychiatric practice) and has given over 5000 lectures on the practice of psychopharmacology nationally. The majority of my patients have been under his care for decades.
