Summary
- Professor of neurosurgery at UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the Medical College of Bellary and then pursued additional training in England where he became a fellow the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond Virginia and a fellowship in Neuro-oncology at UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He has advanced the field of brain mapping and intraoperative awake surgery for the resection of tumors in eloquent brain. He is an experienced user of the intraoperative MRI (BrainSuite) and has made major contributions in this field. He has introduced a number of new technologies including laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) for the management of deep-seated brain tumors.
