He is Clinical Professor of Surgery, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He maintains a clinical practice of vascular and endovascular surgery with the Kaiser Permanente Colorado region in Denver. Dr. Rehring performed his vascular surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University in Boston. He is certified in vascular surgery and a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. He is past-President of the American College of Surgeons-Colorado Chapter and the Denver Academy of Surgery. He has been recognized as a Denver "Top Doc" by 5280 magazine for fifteen years and a recipient of the Permanente Award from the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. He has twice been awarded “Teacher-of-the-Year” by Saint Joseph Hospital surgical house staff. He has been awarded the “Top 100 Art of Medicine Score” award twelve times. He is author or co-author of over fifty peer-reviewed articles and ten book chapters in vascular surgery. His areas of expertise include: open surgical and endovascular treatment of abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm, medical and surgical management of peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery occlusive disease and minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins.
