Summary
- Dr. Tracee Metcalfe is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and patient-centered care. After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Colorado and completing her residency at the University of Washington, Dr. Metcalfe has dedicated her career to improving the health and lives of patients in diverse settings, including hospital medicine, primary care, hospice care, and high-altitude medicine.
Her professional journey includes serving as Medical Director at Home Care and Hospice of the Valley and working as a hospitalist at Vail Valley Medical Center for over 13 years. Through these experiences, she became increasingly disillusioned with the limitations of traditional medical models that primarily focus on disease management rather than proactive wellness and preventative care.
Driven by a desire to empower individuals to achieve optimal health and longevity, Dr. Metcalfe founded The Synergy Clinic PLLC. Here, she combines her expertise in internal medicine with health and sports coaching to guide patients on a personalized journey towards wellness, healthy aging, and extended lifespan. She believes in a holistic approach that addresses not only physical health but also the mental, emotional, and social factors that contribute to overall well-being.
Dr. Metcalfe is not only recognized for her clinical excellence—having twice been named Physician of the Year at VVMC—but also for her adventurous spirit. She is the first U.S. woman to summit all 14 of the world's highest peaks, a testament to her resilience, determination, and passion for pushing boundaries. Her experience as an expedition doctor on high-altitude climbs further enriches her understanding of human physiology under extreme conditions.
