Dr. Sookdeo is a Trinidadian born family medicine physician who earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus. She completed her residency in Community and Family Medicine at Howard University, Washington DC and also holds a Masters in Public Health with distinctions from Capella University. She served as Chief Resident of Research and Quality improvement in the final year and has a keen interest in treating all age groups from newborns to the elderly. She places emphasis on preventive health care and wellness, manages acute illnesses and chronic disease as well as specific health concerns. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Physicians and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
