Her academic output is exceptional, with more than 110 peer-reviewed publications, alongside contributions to scientific statements, clinical guidelines, and expert consensus papers. Dr. Blumer's academic career started at Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she received her Medical Degree, earning an honorific distinction in research. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and served as a Chief Resident at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she received the annual Research Award. Subsequently, she pursued a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and a one-year Cardiovascular Research Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). During her time at Duke, she was awarded the AHA’s Laennec Fellow in Training Research Award. Dr. Blumer finished an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and was named Fellow of the Year.
