Summary
- I am a practicing endocrinologist and health services researcher. My research focuses on improving the quality of specialty healthcare delivery — from both patient and clinician perspectives — through specialty care coordination and telemedicine. I have developed novel survey measures of care coordination applicable across health systems and modalities of care. One of these has been adopted by the VA as a measure of cross-system coordination. I have collaborated at high levels with both VA and professional society leadership on projects related to care coordination. In telemedicine, I have both clinical and research experience in video-based care, e-consults, and patient portals. I have provided clinical input as a subject matter expert to research projects using machine learning and natural language processing.
