Summary
- I trained in Pediatrics and Neonatology in India, United Kingdom and in the US. I care for the sickest and most premature infants in collaboration with fellows, residents, medical students, nurse practitioners, nurses — and other health care professionals involved in the care of infants in the NICU — to help these fragile infants overcome severe challenges to thrive and grow. My research focuses on pulmonary hypertension (PH), resuscitation, oxygen, BPD, and caffeine therapy, impacting newborn infants' quality of care. I have more than 70 publications to my credit. My upbringing in India has given me a deep appreciation for global health issues relating to maternal and child health. That has spurred me to try to develop low-cost technologies to improve neonatal and child health in developing countries, emphasizing resuscitation and birth asphyxia. I mentor fellows learn the skills and techniques they need to be successful neonatologists. I am committed to fellows' success as the next generation of compassionate, competent neonatologists.
