Summary

  • Dr. W. C. Cole Claiborne is a Board-Certified dermatologist practicing cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatology. Dr. Claiborne is a cum laude graduate of Isidore Newman School and Washington & Lee University. He attended LSU-New Orleans School of Medicine and LSU School of Public Health and graduated at the top of his class. He was the only member of his medical class to receive both a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Public Health degree at graduation.

Following medical school, Dr. Claiborne completed his Internal Medicine internship at LSU-New Orleans and won an award for medical excellence. Prior to beginning his dermatology residency, Dr. Claiborne served as a clinical research fellow for Tulane Dermatology. During that time, he was a sub-investigator for 10 randomized clinical drug trials for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. He continues to stay active in and up to date with research to optimize patient outcomes.

During his Tulane Dermatology residency, Dr. Claiborne received numerous scholarships and grants to attend national meetings, master novel techniques and “best in class” treatments for difficult cases. In his final year of training, Dr. Claiborne served as Cosmetic Chief Resident and oversaw Tulane Dermatology’s cosmetic clinic and resident aesthetic education. He is passionate about minimally invasive facial rejuvenation and the products to do so – neuromodulators (such as Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin®), injectable fillers (such as Juvederm® and Restylane®), chemical peels, cosmeceuticals, and lasers.

A new father himself, Dr. Claiborne also has a keen interest in pediatric dermatology. He trained at Children’s Hospital Dermatology Clinic during residency and is adept at treating infants and adolescents. He tries to treat every patient, big or small, as if there were his own family. He hopes to see you or your loved ones in the near future!
