  • Wayne A. Johnson, M.D., FAAOS, FACS is a has practiced orthopaedic surgery for the past 20 years in Lawton,OK. He has practiced knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgery, for the past 23 years. Dr. Johnson completed his BS degree in Chemistry from Howard University, medical degree from Meharry Medical College, and his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado, where he served as the chief resident of his Univ. Colorado's residency program & Denver Children's Hospital. He also additional postgraduate fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma (2002) at the University of Miami's, Ryder Trauma Center and has subspecialty interest in sports medicine.
    Dr. Wayne A. Johnson, MD is a former US Army Lieutenant Colonel and has completed 21 years of combined service in the United States Army (1980-1991: U.S. Army Reserves, 1991-2003: U.S. Army Active Duty). He currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the University of Oklahoma Family Medicine Residency program and Rural Orthopaedics for Oklahoma State University. He has served as the President of the Oklahoma state Orthopaedic society for six years, Former President of the Mid-central states regional Orthopaedic society, and the Cameron University Foundation board of directors for 8 years, where he has served as the President. He has served as an Oral and written Board examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
     
    Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Councilors, serving as President. He also served 3 years on the AAOS Board of Directors, and has served on the Research, Education, and Advocacy Councils, OrthoPac Exec. cmte, former AAOS Communications Cabinet, Coding and Reimbursement Comm.,the Diversity Advisory Board and has served 5 years as an editor for AAOS Now. Dr. Johnson has served as Southwestern Medical Centers Chief of surgery, Orthopaedic department & it's Ambulatory Surgery Center.
