• W. Curt LaFrance Jr., MD, MPH, is a dually-trained and double-boarded neurologist and psychiatrist, Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at Brown University, and Director of the Veterans Affairs Mind Brain Program.
  He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (MD, 1995), completed the combined residency in Neurology and Psychiatry at Brown University (2001), a research fellowship at Brown University (2003), and obtained his MPH from Brown Univesity in 2007.
  Dr. LaFrance holds leadership positions in national and international organizations. His expertise includes neuropsychiatry, functional neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, seizure disorders, and movement disorders. In his roles in research, education, clinical care, administration, and forensic neuropsychiatry, he has contributed to the literature as an international expert on functional seizures, TBI and has been led numerous clinical trials related to seizure biomarkers and TBI, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures and functional movement disorders.
