- William H. Slattery III, M.D., is a private practitioner, researcher and President of the House Clinic in Los Angeles, California. As a highly respected neurotologist and skull base surgeon, he directs both the UCLA Neurotology Fellowship Program at the House Ear Institute.
Dr. Slattery is board certified in Otolaryngology and Neurotology and is a fellow of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He also currently serves on the executive board of the American Otology Society.
As an associate editor for several scientific journals, Dr. Slattery has published over 135 peer-reviewed articles and is the co-author of The Facial Nerve, a premier surgical training resource now published in multiple languages. Quoted in numerous lay publications including Business Week, Prevention Magazine, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, and the Los Angeles Times he has also been featured on television programing including the Discovery Health Channel and Oprah.
As the recipient of over 14 million dollars in federal grant funding, Dr. Slattery continues to demonstrate his commitment to research that will accelerate the development of treatment for patients with acoustic neuroma; NF2, hearing loss and a variety of facial nerve disorders. He currently serves as a study section advisor to the NIH providing recommendations on the quality and feasibility of research proposals submitted for funding.
A former executive committee member of the America Neurotology Society and section editor for the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Journal, he is also a past president of the LA Society of Otolaryngology.The recipient of numerous awards, he has been named among “The Best Doctors in America” annually since 2003. A sought after speaker at medical and scientific conferences around the world, Dr. Slattery recently enjoyed his acting debut portraying “The Hearing Doctor” in the Oscar nominated movie, A Star Is Born.
