He was practicing at MCV/VCU from 1984-2018, where is served in several roles- interventional and transplant pediatric cardiologist, professor and Chief of Pediatric Cardiology, Interim Chair, Department of Pediatrics and Vice Chair of Pediatrics for Clinical Operations. He served as Professor and Chief at the Children's Hospital and Co-Chair Children's Heart Center, University of Mississippi Medical Center, a position he has held from 2018 until 2024. Dr. Moskowitz has contributed to the field through various publications, including studies on heart allocation policy changes for heart transplantation and ventricular assist device utilization in children, studies on cardiovascular risk of second hand smoke in children and studies involving interventional catheterization procedures in children, with much of his work being cited by other researchers. He chaired the AAP National Committee on Pediatric Workforce and is currently a member of the AAP National Committee on Child Health Finance. He will be retiring as professor emeritus at UMMC on July 1, 2025.
