- Dr. Suarez is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist and interventional cardiologist with more than 20 years of service to NW Ohio and southern Michigan. He is a regional specialist in the treatment of Dysautonomia and has been chief of pediatric cardiology for 18 years while serving academically as Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toledo. He was the first to successfully perform transcatheter PDA closure on a 1.4 Kg preterm neonate. He assisted in discovering a novel mutation and new form of periodic paralysis known as Anderson-Tawil Syndrome associated with ventricular tachycardia.
