Handelsman is a nationally- and internationally-recognized expert on Diabetes, Obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic syndromes, pre-diabetes, Lipids, DM medications to include SGLT2i, GLP1ra, Insulin, The Cardiorenal Syndrome, the gut-brain connection, and prevention of Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Disease. He has consulted and lectured on lipodystrophy, thyroid and osteoporosis. He published over 145 peer reviewed original articles.
