The General Surgery Residency Program at Inspira Health Network provides well-rounded, comprehensive surgical training in a collegial environment, and prepares the resident for fellowship training and/or independent practice. The five-year training program is based within two teaching community hospitals in Southern New Jersey. Core rotations in general surgery provide a rich experience in all aspects of general surgery, including the abdomen, alimentary tract, skin, soft tissue, breast, vascular system, endocrine, critical care, minimally invasive surgery, bariatrics, head/neck and plastic surgery. Rotations to regional hospitals in the Greater Philadelphia area provide additional exposure to sub-specialties including complex surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, trauma, burns, and organ transplantation. Upon graduation, residents will have fulfilled all operative requirements set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Graduates of the program will be competent practitioners providing comprehensive surgical care, and will be eligible for certification by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
