Our program aims to train well-rounded physicians in anatomic and/or clinical pathology for a variety of practice settings and subspecialties. We emphasize a collaborative/supportive environment, with a focus on team-based care and faculty mentorship. Our primary training site, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, is ranked #1 in Illinois and the Chicago Metro Area, and #10 in the nation. It is the busiest hospital in the region, with diverse material from all areas of anatomic and clinical pathology. Our trainees benefit from participation in robust interdisciplinary programs in multiple specialties, with a plethora of opportunities for research, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement. Our graduates place in excellent subspecialty fellowships, often choosing to stay in-house at one of our numerous AP and CP fellowships, and subsequently, successfully place in academic or community practices of their choice. We are proud that our trainees go on to be successful diagnosticians as well as leaders in our field.
