The overall aim of The Ohio State University/Mt. Carmel Health Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology is to train competent, compassionate physicians and skilled surgeons who are current with the latest developments in our specialty. We prepare individuals for careers in private practice, academic medicine, education, or government and policy development. Our graduates can enter any accredited fellowship program, practice setting, or research career. We embrace an evidence-based, inclusive work environment. Our goal is to foster a diverse group of academically prepared, skilled, and socially minded physicians who will provide excellent patient care, be engaged in their communities, and be involved in quality improvement. The two health systems that are part of our program primarily provide care to the patients of Central Ohio. In addition, because of our large footprint, we also serve patients from across Ohio as well as northern Kentucky and the western part of West Virginia.
