The categorical Dermatology residency program in Scottsdale/Phoenix, Arizona, offers the close mentorship of a small program, combined with the tremendous educational resources and academic excellence of Mayo Clinic. From the most common to the rarest cutaneous diseases, the residents directly care for patients with the full spectrum of dermatologic disorders. A distinctive feature of the program is the direct scheduling of patients on resident calendars, so that patients identify the residents as their providers of dermatologic care, while faculty members provide supportive guidance and supervision. This arrangement allows the residents to gain progressive experience and confidence in the management of both straightforward and highly complex dermatologic disorders. At the completion of their training, the residents are exceptionally well-prepared for any future career option that they choose.
