  Dr. Gupta is a alumna of Harvard Business School of the general management program and Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs (MPP, HHP). She holds dual doctorates in medicine and pharmacy from Rutgers University, and Rowan University (formerly UMDNJ). She completed her residency in anesthesiology at Georgetown University School of Medicine, pain fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
  
  The American Society of Anesthesiologists recognizes Dr. Gupta as the first appointed woman physician anesthesiologist to expand the only opioid overdose antidote, naloxone, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. She is also recognized as the first woman physician anesthesiologist to Co-Chair the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Prescription Opioid Abuse.
