Summary

  • I am a board-certified adult Psychiatrist with a Master’s in Public Health and over 20 years of practice as an outpatient psychiatrist in primary care, home care and office—based settings. I started my career as a psychiatrist embedded in an integrated primary care and home care practices at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and was an early adopter of health information technology in clinical practice. I have been active in organized medicine since my days in residency training and have served on many committees, advocating for mental health parity in the coverage of mental health and substance use treatment under commercial health insurance. I current serve as the current Chair of the Committee on Interspecialty of the Massachusetts Medical Society and am a Past President of the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society. I also serve as a current Representative to the American Medical Association’s Relative Value Update Committee. I teach a public health course on health policy to Harvard Longwood Psychiatry residents. I am a full-time Senior Medical Director for Mental Health at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and continue to see patients in clinical practice.
