- Dr. Kennedy earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, CA in 1990 after completing pre-medical studies at Howard University in Washington,DC in 1985. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Center in Minneapolis, MN, in 1997.
Until 2012, Dr. Kennedy served as the Neurosurgery Medical Director at United Hospital in Minneapolis /St. Paul, MN. During his tenure, he had the opportunity to lead neurosurgical programs in neurovascular surgery and stroke, minimally invasive spine surgery, deep brain stimulation for movement disorders and spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain. They were leaders in the integration of functional neuroimaging, intraoperative MRI and advanced neuronavigation into comprehensive brain tumor and epilepsy surgery programs.
In 2013, Dr. Kennedy served as Chief of Neurosurgery for Sentara Healthcare at Norfolk General Hospital.
Dr. Kennedy returned to Minnesota in 2014 to serve as Medical Director of Neurovascular Surgery at St. Cloud Hospital. Dr Kennedy is also Physician Section Director of Neurosciences for CentraCare Health.
