He completed his psychology degree at Stanford University and his medical education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, followed by an internship in internal medicine and a residency and fellowship in psychiatry and psychopharmacology at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. Since 1994, he has served as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Lardon has experience in a variety of sports medicine disciplines and is the author of several publications on sports psychiatry and mental performance in golf. He has consulted for United States Olympic teams, NFL, MLB and PGA Tour players. His honors include a Research Award from UC San Diego and a Best Mental Health System award from San Diego's Reader Magazine.
