Summary

  • Dr. Qasim Zaidi, MD completed his Orthopedic Surgery training in California at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Following his residency, he completed a specialized, high-volume fellowship in spine surgery that focused on degenerative conditions, minimally invasive surgery (MIS), advanced image-guided navigation and robotic surgery in Boston, MA at the New England Baptist Hospital Spine Surgical Fellowship.

Dr. Zaidi's expertise is in motion preservation using artificial cervical disc replacement, performing same day/outpatient surgery and using multi-modality pain control to manage discomfort after surgery. His specialties include all types of cervical surgery, as well as lumbar micro-discectomy, laminectomy and fusions. He has also won numerous research awards for studying novel ways to predict pedicle screw biomechanics, and has authored several publications on the utility of Hounsfield Units in predicting bone density and osteoporosis.

As a spine surgeon my goal is to utilize the state of the art tools in my armamentarium to diagnose and treat your neck and lower back pain, as well as arm and leg pain. These tools include specialized physical therapy programs, dynamic x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging and/or computed tomography, electromyography and/or nerve conduction velocity testing, epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root blocks, medial branch blocks and intra-articular facet injections. After exhausting all of these non-operative techniques surgery may be an option. I will determine a unique surgical plan to treat your pain while using minimally invasive techniques to minimize soft tissue disruption.
