He also has special interest in the treatment of the sinuses (including chronic sinusitis, loss of smell, and nasal polyps), nasal obstruction (disorders of the septum and turbinates), salivary glands (parotid, submandibular), thyroid tumors, and parathyroid glands. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
    In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Shiba is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a member of the American Association of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society, American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and Phi Beta Kappa.
