• Dr. Ainsley Freshour has over 16 years of experience in the field of surgery and is a general surgeon in Jacksonville, FL. She specializes in bariatric surgery, trauma surgery & surgical critical care, and minimally invasive surgery and is experienced in varicose veins and endovascular surgery. Dr. Freshour originally went into employed practice as a vascular and minimally invasive surgeon in Oak Ridge, TN. After pioneering the robotic program at her hospital, she left to pursue her passion in Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery. She has travelled all over the country providing trauma, acute surgical, and critical care to thousands of patients in their hours of need. During the pandemic, Dr. Freshour halted her surgical practice and tirelessly provided COVID care during the time of great need in our country. Since that time, she returned to trauma, most recently practicing at one of the country’s busiest trauma centers, Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Recently, Dr. Freshour made the decision to stop travelling and move back to the Jacksonville area to establish her private practice because she enjoys the continuity of care it provides and the relationships she can form with her patients. Her interests lie in bariatric, foregut, hernia, and vein surgery. She loves to educate her patients and involve them in the decision-making process at all steps.
