Summary
- I am a second year pediatric hematology/oncology fellow at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine. I am passionate about health disparities, advocacy, narrative medicine, hemoglobinopathies, and implementation science. My research is an effort to understand how we can safely & appropriately expand curative therapy for hematology pathologies to Sub-Saharan Africa (currently supported by a T32 in Infection & Immunity, ASH MHFA, and P01 funds). My quality improvement work is a health literacy effort - the first of its kind in our division - and supported by AAP SOPT Health Equity Grant. Outside of the hospital, I teach narrative medicine & write poetry, short stories, flash fiction and procrastinate on my emerging novel.
