  • I love my job. I’ve had the opportunity to work with and guide many physicians in a variety of roles. I’ve seen the ups and downs of our healthcare system and have become convinced the long-term answer to health and healthcare lies with empowering patients and physicians through innovation and wellness.

I thrive on leading transformation, navigating change, and driving innovation. As an early adopter, I endeavor to make healthcare more consumer-centric and personalized through the use of technologies like predictive analytics and evidence-based lifestyle medicine.

Innovation is the key to making a difference in the lives of patients which is why I have led various pioneering initiatives to improve the care and empowerment of our patients and physicians.

    > Implementation of ambulatory and inpatient HealthConnect
    > A telephone visit pilot program
    > Deployment of Open Notes
    > Opened the “Medical Office of the Future.”
    > Transformed the Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Care (KPPC) care delivery center.

I enjoy mentoring physicians, and I strive every day to help physicians achieve the aspirational goals they established when they chose a career in medicine so they can better serve and care for their patients.

I value and advocate for the wellness of physicians. I consider myself to be a visionary leader who recognizes the need for more personalized options such as flexible hours and schedules, physician wellness, and providing greater control over their practices.

As an Area Medical Director, I led and sponsored and invested in physician wellness activities.

    > The Women in Medicine and Financial Wellness Symposiums
    > The #WeMatter Symposium

By investing in our physicians, and leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence, we provide our physicians more time to engage in the work they love which will make our healthcare system better for everyone.

Kaiser Permanente awarded a $2 million grant to establish the Long Beach HEAL zone to measurably transform the community and encourage healthy behaviors.
