Summary

• I serve as Senior Dean of Faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, where I oversee the Offices of Faculty Affairs, Faculty Development, the Center for Professionalism, and Community Engagement. I hold the Mary and Gordon Cain Chair and am a Professor of Medicine, Director of the Winters Center for Heart Failure, Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute, and Medical Care Line Executive Leader at the DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. I also serve as a member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team at Baylor College of Medicine.
  
  Throughout my career, I have led change and excellence across all missions of academic medicine, including clinical care, research & education. I am recognized for my contributions to cardiology and heart failure. (Clarivate World’s Highly Cited Researcher (top 1% globally since 2018) with an H‑index of 100). My interests spans translational research, phase II–III clinical trials, and outcomes research. I previously served as President of the Heart Failure Society of America (2019–2020), chaired the 2021 Universal Definition and Classification of Heart Failure, and served as Vice Chair of the 2022 AHA/ACC Heart Failure Guidelines. I remain actively engaged in patient care, clinical research, and national and international scientific leadership.
  
  I currently serve as Editor‑in‑Chief of JACC: Heart Failure, the highest‑impact journal in the field.
  
  I have received recognition for excellence in clinical care, education, and leadership, including the ACC Proctor Harvey Young Teacher Award, the ACC Gifted Educator Award, Baylor Presidential Awards, the HFSA Distinguished Leadership Award (2024), the ACC Bahr Award of Excellence (2024), the ACC Distinguished Fellow Award (2025), and the AHA Laennec Clinician Educator Award (2025). I am honored to be invited to deliver keynote lectures and visiting professorships nationally & internationally.
