    Dr. Van Noord was born and raised in the Midwest (Lansing, MI). He excelled throughout his academic career, including earning Dean’s list recognition each semester at Calvin University (Grand Rapids, MI). He received several prestigious scholarships and earned Honors recognition in multiple rotations during medical school at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA).

    Dr. Van Noord proudly served his country in the US Navy and completed his medical internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Following graduation, he served his country with distinction on several deployments and while stationed overseas both as a General Medical Officer and as a Flight Surgeon. He earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

    While Dr. Van Noord was an Anesthesiology resident at the University of Southern California, he was peer selected as a class representative and was recognized as an outstanding resident in Regional Anesthesia. He completed his Pain Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) a medical center that is consistently ranked as the “Best in the West” and one of the top institutions in the nation.

    Throughout his medical training, Dr. Van Noord continuously engaged in clinical research, published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented original research at national and international meetings, and authored several textbook chapters.

    In his free time, Dr. Van Noord enjoys spending time with his wife and baby, exploring San Diego, and surfing.

    Philosophy - I want to improve the health of my patients. I strive to treat every patient like they were members of my own family. My goal is to use procedural interventions to decrease and potentially eliminate, the need for chronic opiate therapy
