Summary

  • Dr Bruno Nahar received his MD degree in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2005. After finishing a 2-year residency in General Surgery and a 3-year residency in Urology he became a Board Certified Urologist (TiSBU) in Brazil. After he finished his residency he worked for 4 years as a faculty at one of the largest hospitals in Rio de Janeiro. He then pursued further training and finished a 3-year Clinical Fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is currently a Assistant Professor of Urologic Oncology at the Department of Urology University of Miami.

    Dr Nahar has great interest in Urologic Oncology and Robotic surgery, mainly malignant conditions of the prostate, kidney and bladder. He is also an enthusiast and a pioneer of Focal Therapy for prostate cancer, with extensive experience in performing both MRI-US fusion biopsies and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ablation of the prostate.

    Research: Dr Nahar is currently studying the role of cancer stem cells in genitourinary malignancies.
