• Dr. Byron Gregory Thompson, MD. is the JE McGillicuddy Professor and Neurosurgery Clinical Service Chief at the University of Michigan. Dr. Thompson completed his Neurosurgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh under Dr Peter Jannetta, a Cerebrovascular Research Fellowship under Dr Edward Oldfield at the National Institutes of Health, a Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Fellowship under Dr Robert Spetzler at the Barrow Neurological Institute and an Endovascular Neurosurgery and Interventional Neuroradiology Fellowship under Dr Robert Rosenwasser in 2004 at Thomas Jefferson University. His expertise includes treatment of brain aneurysms and skull base tumors such as Vestibular Schwannomas and Meningiomas, He has served as the Chairman of the American Board of Neurological Surgery as well as the Cerebrovascular Section of the AANS/CNS.
