Charles Jaffe, MD, PhD has been employed in Medical Informatics for nearly 35 years. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Health Level 7 (HL7), a 40-year old non- profit that provides the infrastructure for sharing health and research information in 50 countries. Previously, he was the VP of Medical Informatics at AstraZeneca and the Global Strategist for Digital Health at Intel. He completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center from 1973 to 1977, following a residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital from 1971 to 1973. Dr. Jaffe obtained his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 1971 and also completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at MedStar Health/Georgetown University Hospital in 1976-1977.
