His postgraduate training included ortho, musculoskeletal radiology, PM&R, interventional pain medicine, minimally-invasive spine surgery, and neuromodulation techniques. He completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation along with a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System/Medical College of Virginia where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Bovinet has a broad range of experience, particularly in procedures associated with spinal conditions, nerve pain, and sacroiliac joint pain. His particular areas of expertise are SIJ fusion, pre-operative image guided surgical planning, spinal cord stimulation (SCS) along with dorsal root ganglion stimulation (DRG) or other neuromodulation techniques. He has had several publications on these topics. He has been acknowledged for his contributions to the field with honors such as Medical Director at The Spine Center of SE Georgia and The Brunswick Pain Treatment Center, and the Academic Excellence Award from the Medical College of Virginia each year of his residency. He currently serves as the President of the Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
