Summary
- I entered family medicine to establish long-term care relationships with my patients and help them stay healthy by practicing preventive medicine whenever possible. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” If I ever have extra time during your annual physical, you can bet I will be happy to give you a crash course in Nutrition 101, exercise tips or even find ways to motivate you to get more active if you already have a good background in “what to do” but struggle with turning your knowledge into action. My goal is to give all my patients a good background in their health/illnesses. The more a patient understands about their disease process, the better they will be able to treat that issue or prevent it from happening again in the future. I am often called the “explainer doctor,” and I’m frequently accused of actually listening to my patients. I also view myself as a “quarterback” in the complicated world of health insurance/care delivery and try to teach my younger patients about deductibles and out-of-network care before they have to find out the hard way. I would be happy to meet you and help guide you along your life’s journey!
I am a complete dork who loves watching Star Wars, Marvel and Star Trek (working on it) movies with my two sons. I also enjoy practicing Kenpo Karate with my wife, and occasionally she even convinces me to run a Ragnar Relay race with her. When trails are dry, I will hike or mountain bike on them, but when they’re covered in snow, I prefer to ski on them because my bike will get too muddy.
