• Dr. Van Dien is a board certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and completed residency training at JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, where he served as an Academic Chief Resident. He completed further sub-specialty training in Sports Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
  
  Dr. Van Dien is one of the founders of the Center for Sports and Spine Medicine at JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, part of Hackensack Meridian Health.
  
  Dr. Van Dien's clinical focus includes sports and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as chronic degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. He believes in well-rounded, personalized plans of care that focus on healthy, active lifestyles and patient empowerment. Dr. Van Dien strives to reduce his patients' pain using therapeutic modalities, exercise, and interventional procedures. He has expertise in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, which allows him to identify potential sources of pain using real-time imaging. Additionally, he has procedural expertise in ultrasound-guided joint, bursa, tendon, and soft tissue injections, viscosupplementation, platelet rich plasma, and nerve blocks.
