Summary
- Dr. Brinton is the senior author of a textbook on retinal detachment, and author of numerous textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles. He has served on the national board which accredits medical schools and is recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Honor Award. He is an assistant examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and served as a peer reviewer for the journal RETINA. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with highest honors from Brigham Young University, Dr. Brinton completed medical studies at the University of Utah, as a Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society member. Following ophthalmology residency at Washington University, he completed vitreoretinal fellowships at California Pacific Medical Center and at University of California San Francisco, where he serves as an assistant clinical professor. He is Board-certified in ophthalmology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has been listed in “The Best Doctors of America;” most recently named as a Bay Area Top Doctor 2017. Current research interests include the use of intravitreal injections for the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
