Summary

  • I’m a second-generation, fellowship-trained complex spine surgeon specializing in spinal oncology, joining the neurosurgery faculty at The Ohio State University and the James Cancer Center—the nation’s third-largest NCI-designated cancer center—in August 2025.

My clinical focus spans the most technically demanding pathologies in spine surgery, particularly complex tumor resection and reconstruction. I developed this expertise during my fellowship under Dr. Daniel Sciubba and Dr. Larry Lo at Northwell Health, receiving comprehensive training across the full spectrum of advanced spine procedures.

A contrarian at heart, I focus my research at the intersection of neurosurgery and computational methods, aiming to expose disconnects between institutional narratives and observed outcomes. In my final year of residency alone, I published over 15 peer-reviewed papers exploring how healthcare narratives diverge from real-world data.

In 2025, I’m launching the Neurosurgical Digital Intelligence Lab to apply data science and digital analytics to critical challenges in neurosurgical care. Our mission is to enhance neurosurgical decision-making through innovative computational approaches that complement clinical expertise. Our work spans computational decision analysis, digital biomarker discovery, individualized surgical planning, and systems-level healthcare analysis.

I serve as faculty at several national spine courses, including the NREF Deformity Course and the Ohio State Spine Oncology Senior Resident Course. I was selected as an invited attendee at the 23rd Annual AO Spine North America Fellows Forum (2025) and recognized as Outstanding Resident Educator at Northwell Health (2018–2023).

I became a surgeon because I love solving hard problems that matter to real people. I became a researcher because I kept asking “why?” I’m driven by a simple goal: to bring clarity, thoughtfulness, and compassion to some of the toughest decisions in spine care.
