Dr. David Cohen, based in New York, NY, is a nephrology specialist with a focus transplant nephrology. After graduating from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1977, he completed his residency in internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. This was followed by a clinical fellowship in Nephrology at Columbia University Medical Center and a research fellowship in Transplantation and Immunogenetics at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School from 1981 to 1983. He then joined the full-time faculty at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he is now Professor of Medicine. Dr. Cohen has contributed to research with publications the New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Kidney Disease, the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, and others, covering topics such as kidney transplantation and genetic influences on transplantation outcomes.
