Summary

  • I am a pediatric endocrinologist with an active clinical practice servicing children with endocrine disorders and diabetes. I am also an established scientist in the field of the neuroendocrine development of the Limbic-Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis (LHPA). My research program integrates human and basic science studies studying the effects of early life adversity, the risk for psychopathology and endocrine disorders in childhood. I am also interested and proficient in the management of diabetes in infants, children, teenagers and young adults. I have extensive experience in the recruitment, administration and interpretation of diagnostic interviews and other clinical psychosocial research tools. I have nurtured collaborations with national/international clinical investigators, playing a leading role in several Network Interdisciplinary NIH Grants with teams of investigators spanning 11 disciplines.
