I am a board certified ophthalmologist in private solo practice. I have been in private practice since 1992 and started my solo practice in 1996. I have become very involved in organized medicine in the last five years at the local, state and national level. I became a Delegate to the AMA last year. I was also elected president of our state society, the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons last year and I am on the Board of the Greater Louisville Medical Society. I advocate for legislative changes to help improve medicine for both physicians and patients at both the state and national level. I travel to Frankfort, KY and Washington, DC several times a year to meet with our elected officials to advocate for these changes. I encourage all of my colleagues to become involved in advocacy to help improve our profession and improve care for our patients.
