• Dr. Gregory Grillone is the M. Stuart Strong and Charles W. Vaughan Professor and Chair of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and the Chief of Otolaryngology at Boston Medical Center. Prior to serving as chair he was the Vice Chair and Residency Program Director for 18 years. He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his residency training at the Boston University-Tufts University Combined Otolaryngology Training Program under Drs. M. Stuart Strong and Werner Chasin.
  Dr. Grillone has served as president of the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, Eastern Section Vice President of the Triological Society, and president of New England Otolaryngological Society and currently serves as Chair of the Secretaries Liaison Committee of COSM (Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings). He has served as President of the Medical and Dental Staff, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Associate Chief Medical Officer, and Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee at Boston Medical Center.
  Dr. Grillone is the recipient of numerous awards including the Edmund Prince Fowler Award from the Triological Society, Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Vice-Presidential Citation from the Triological Society, and the Charles W. Vaughan Excellence in Teaching Award. His areas of clinical expertise include laryngology, bronchoesophagology and head and neck cancer. His research interests include surgical margin guidance and early detection of head and neck squamous cancer using elastic scattering spectroscopy, and he is the recipient of multiple extramural research grants.
