Summary
- I am currently in the midst of my second year of interventional fellowship, in structural heart disease, at Columbia University Irving Medical Center which I will be completing in 6/2021. I also completed my general cardiology fellowship at Columbia. Prior to fellowship, I completed the Osler Residency Training Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
During my interventional fellowship I have developed considerable experience with high risk PCI including but not limited to left main interventions, bifurcation stenting and mechanical support (Impella, ProtekDuo, and IABP). I was exposed to basic peripheral work and above the knee interventions and have significant exposure to advanced pulmonary embolism therapies including EKOS and Inari Flowtriever thrombectomy. During fellowship I not only participated and performed ultra-low contrast angiography and zero-contrast PCI but published and presented on the outcomes and technical feasibility of the technique demonstrating its safety and
efficacy in reducing contrast induced nephropathy. The majority of our PCIs during fellowship were performed with imaging guidance. This has given me a strong familiarity with both IVUS and OCT use and interpretation. Finally, I conducted research involving coronary physiology including being in charge for recruitment and data analysis for the only US site for the FAST II Trial evaluating the utility of angiography based FFR.
During my structural year I will gain familiarity with TAVR, valve-in-valve, and TMVR utilizing Sapien, Evolute, and Lotus systems. I will also become facile with Watchman implants and the MitraClip system. I will also have exposure to ASD and PFO closures. Furthermore, I will have had exposure to novel systems and technologies through the trials available at Columbia such as novel tricuspid transcatheter interventions and pulmonic valve interventions.
