Summary

James Nicholson, MD, is currently an assistant professor and associate program director in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Kansas. Dr. Nicholson practices Family Medicine with a subspecialty in non-surgical Sports Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency in at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, GA. Dr. Nicholson holds several advanced degrees, including an MMAS from the United States Army Command and General Staff College, an MPH focusing on Global Disaster Management from the University of South Florida, as well as an MHA and MBA from Baylor University. He is experienced in trauma care and has several publications, notably in military medicine. He has been recognized as a Fellow by both the Wilderness Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Notable assignments include the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as well as the White House Medical Unit. Dr. Nicholson's experience extends from the battlefields for Iraq and Afghanistan to the Oval Office.
