Summary

  • I am a board certified pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist at the Barbara Davis Center specializing in type 1 diabetes (T1D) and rare genetic forms of diabetes in children. My clinical interests include caring for children and adolescents with multiple autoimmune diseases and athletes with T1D. My research is focused on better defining which children are at risk for T1D through screening for islet autoantibodies (early T1D) and investigating high risk genes in ethnically diverse populations. I am actively engaged in T1D prevention trials with the goal of helping to find an intervention that can modulate the autoimmune attack in the pancreas.
