Summary
- After graduating La Sapienza in July of 1975, I completed five years of training in General Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Cent of New York City under the professorship of Dr. Thomas A. Nealon, Jr., M.D. I achieved the position of Chief Resident there in my final year. I then attended a residency in Colon and Rectal Surgery under the directions of Dr. Eugene P. Salvati, M.D. at what was then UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School, subsequently the Robert Woods Johnson Medical School at Rutgers. I practiced Colon and Rectal Surgery in Huntington NY with privileges at Huntington Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital at Northport, N.Y. I spent several years volunteering my services at the Northport VA and considered it a privilege to attend to the veterans. My academic appointments include:
