Summary
- Dr. Ayzenberg has two main mottos in his approach to patient care:
"I don't treat pictures, I treat patients" - many people may have tears and other injuries on their x-rays and MRIs, but these very often do not require surgery. Treating the picture (ie. the MRI) is not in the best interest of the patient.
"Less is more - less pills, less shots, less surgery whenever possible."
Mark Ayzenberg, MD, FAAOS is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Reconstructive Surgery and Regenerative Medicine. He also founded Iron Mountain Orthopaedic Institute in hopes of bringing back personalized medicine - giving every patient the time they deserve with longer, personalized visits designed to answer every question and ensure comfort with the plan of care.
His surgical practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle, as well as total joint replacements of the shoulder. His practice also offers the most cutting-edge regenerative therapies available, which may help you avoid surgery such as joint replacements. These include stem cells, PRP, shockwave, MLS laser and more.
Dr. Ayzenberg graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and graduated with highest honors, at the top of the class. Dr. Ayzenberg trained at the prestigious Sports, Arthroscopy and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI). He completed his residency at the Einstein Healthcare Network, where he served as Academic Chief Resident.
