Summary

  • I'm Dr. Michael Devitt, a board-certified medical oncologist at the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, specializing in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer. I grew up in Marion, Indiana, and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame before earning my MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2011. I came to UVA for residency and stayed for fellowship, completing my training in 2018.

I am currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and Urology, dividing my time between caring for patients, teaching, and clinical research. My teaching focuses on fellows in our Hematology Oncology fellowship, for which I serve as Associate Program Director. My research focuses on improving treatment outcomes in patients with genitourinary cancers.

What keeps me at UVA is the strong sense of community. I value the deep relationships I build with my patients and colleagues and am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care while helping advance the field of oncology.
