Neurosurgical Spine Surgery

Neurosurgeons of New Jersey

Overview of Dr. Kaiser

I am a board certified neurosurgeon, with subspecialty training in complex spine surgery with an emphasis on cervical spine disorders. Formulating a unique treatment plan for each individual patient is the foundation of my practice. Surgery should be reserved as a last resort. A course of conservative care should always be considered except for patients at risk of developing permanent neurological injury. It is essential that we educate our patients, so that they are informed and comfortable regarding their treatment alternatives. I have the unique privilege of working with a stellar group of neurosurgeons, orthopedists, rehab physiatrists, and physical therapist. Coordinating care across multiple disciplines is, in my opinion, the most advantageous means to optimize the outcomes of our patients. Utilizing validated outcome instruments, we can accurately access the response of patients to our treatments. This information is essential when constructing a treatment plan that will allow our patients to return to an acceptable quality of life.

While the care of my patients is my first and foremost passion, I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to advance the field of spine surgery through education of my colleagues and residents in training. These interactions not only allow me to pass on the my knowledge but also learn from my peers. I am an active member of the AANS and CNS, participating as a presenter at annual meetings. I am a Clinical Associate Professor of the Neurosurgery at New York University Langone Health. In my opinion maintaining an active academic career is essential to stay up to date with the latest neurosurgical spine innovations.
