Summary

• Dr. Rock joined Emergency Physicians, PA in 1997 and started clinical practice at Methodist Hospital. In 2001, he became the Medical Director & Chair of Emergency Medicine at Fairview Ridges Hospital, and shortly thereafter opened the new Emergency Department at that location. He led this ED for 14 years.
  
  In 2013, Dr. Rock also assumed the Medical Director & Chair of Emergency Medicine role at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Along with an exceptional team, he opened the Carl N. Platou Emergency Center in 2015. From 2013 to 2015, he led both Fairview Southdale and Ridges Emergency Departments, with combined census of >110K visits. Through transformation change and operational optimization, Dr. Rock achieved top decile patient experience and physician engagement, superior quality outcomes, and exceptional ED operational metrics. Dr. Rock led Fairview Southdale ED until October 2017, then transitioned to his current role.
  
  Dr. Rock currently oversees Emergency Medicine clinical provider operations in eleven Emergency Departments (five Healthcare Systems) in Minneapolis. EPPA has roughly 270 providers. ED volumes exceed 500K patient visits.
  
  Dr. Rock has served EPPA in many capacities outside the ED including participation on the Board of Directors, Peer Review Committee, Physician Management Committee, and ED Hospital Clinical Operations Committee.
  
  Outside EPPA, Dr. Rock has played a key role in the emergency services initiatives throughout the Fairview Health System. He served on the Medical Executive Committees at both hospitals for a combined 16 years, as Chief of Staff at Fairview Ridges, and on the Board of Directors of both Fairview Ridges and Fairview Southdale Hospitals. Dr. Rock has served on Physician Advisory Councils to several recent Fairview CEOs. He has served on various State and National committees for MN ACEP, National ACEP, and AAEM.
